Emily Bronte was born in the small town of Yorkshire, England. Writhing was very common is her house, she had two sisters who were also famous authors.
Emily Bronte's childhood teacher, Contantin Heger described by saying, " She had a head for logic, and a capability of argument unusual in a man and rarer indeed in a woman... impairing this gift was her stubborn tenacity of will which rendered her obtuse to all reasoning where her own wishes, or her own sense of right, was concerned" . This shows that Emily had a strong personality and was very intelligent. Next, her sister also a famous author Charlotte Bronte described her character, "Though her feeling for the people round was benevolent, intercourse with them she never sought; nor, with very few exceptions, ever experienced. And yet she know them: knew their ways, their language, their family histories". This quotes shows that she was not often familiar with social interaction but she was able to write human interactions perfectly.
From reading information about Emily Bronte I've noticed a lot of similarities between the personality and relations of the characters in Wuthering Heights.First of the similarities I noticed was with the author and Young Catherine. The connections that I noticed was that the both lived very sheltered life, since they lived in very remote areas they didn't interact with a lot of people other then there family. Also, they both have a very head-strong personality and a very smart. Also I noticed that she had similarities with Heathcliff. In the quotes an event is described, "Once she was bitten by a dog that she saw running by in great distress, and to which she offered water. The dog was mad. She said no word to any one, but herself burned the lacerated flesh to the bone with the red hot poker, and no one knew of it until the red scar was accidentally discovered some weeks after, and sympathetic questioning brought out this story". This reminds me of a young Heathcliff when he didn't show emotion to being bullied by Hindley.
